Description
To showcase the wind and crispness that occurs at the top of the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, I framed this image from the meadow that looks west towards the ski area on a minus six degree morning with wind chill factors and breezy conditions. MMSA is located on the north side of Mammoth Mountain in the volcanic Long Valley Caldera. Lincoln Mt. is just to the right in this image. The top of the mountain has challenging chutes and groomed as well as mogul runs. Mammoth Mountain also has one of the longest ski seasons in North America, which averages from the start of November to Memorial Day.
