This long-legged golden beauty lives at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert, California. She's part of a Giraffe conservation project to help eliminate the silent extinction of these amazing creatures. The close-up portrait shows her distinctive patterned skin and long neck against a solid black background. As human fingerprints are unique to each individual on the planet, giraffe coat patterns are the same, there are no two giraffe exactly alike on the planet. Her ears are perked; eyes gazed forward with an expression that almost seemed curious about my camera.
