My camera was like a magnet to the dawn's early morning light as I drove around the scenic June Lake Loop. I stopped at Silver Lake to admire the view as the sun's rays helped to reflect the lovely fall aspen foliage onto the still waters.
Silver Lake is in Mono County and part of the Eastern Sierra, a gem of peaceful environment.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
