Description
Just had to pull over and capture this one! While on an early morning southbound drive along scenic Highway 395, from Reno back to Mammoth Lakes, there appeared a beautiful fog bank blanketing all of Mono Lake. It blocked its usual view of a large body of water scattered with tufa formations and Niget Island. I had not been above the clouds except in an airplane to see this..at the time quite amazing to me. Native Americans coined this phenomenon as 'pogonip.'
