Artist's Description
Driving southbound on Highway 395 provides some of the most dramatic vistas of geological formations. The curve in the road just before exiting onto highway 203 into the town of Mammoth Lakes provided this dramatic scene and the opportunity to pull off the road, grab the gear, set up and shoot! The rain stopped falling and the sun appeared through the clouds to wet the black pavement, previously covered in light slushy snow.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Nature is the real artist. I am just one of the tools used to capture its best moments for others to see.
