Description
This is the original site or settlement of San Miguel, now called San Miguel Viejo. The original natives or nomads of the area settled here before populations grew and the city moved uphill; now called San Miguel Allende. These were the first altars built by the nomads before they built the main chapel. Many restoration projects are in play to try and preserve these relics of history. Vintage willow trees form lovey canopies over the old structures, neighboring corn fields; the main chapel is located at the other end of the stone courtyard, not shown in this image.
