Celebrating a birthday has extra enjoyment when you have a camera and can see a lovely sunset while looking over a rooftop balcony from the Hotel Portofino Inn, in Avalon on Catalina Island.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her.
