While the Owens River may be most famous for the fight over its water, it has also become well known as a fishery, especially the Upper Owens stretch that runs through Mono County, in California, USA. I love its quiet serenity in the winter with the snow peaked Sherwin Mt. range in the distance.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
