The Paradise Pier in Malibu, California is an iconic landmark for the film industry. Many TV shows and movies were made there. I took the image when the Colgan family gathered there for a family birthday celebration. My son was the marine coordinator for the Baywatch TV series. Paradise Cove was used frequently not only for the beautiful setting, but also for the convenience of using the restaurant parking lot area for the production crew trailers and truckloads of production equipment. It is now closed to the public for use. Hence, the print offered in sepia tones.The original image was in color, taken at sunset in early December.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her.
