Artist's Description
It was a windy day near the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve; a hillside view of our California poppies complemented the old wooden fence and wildmill. If it’s windy or very cold, the poppies close up, and then, when the sun is out, they spread out their bright petals, so the ground goes from being dotted with orange to being blanketed by it.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Nature is the real artist.
