Description
A white out, during a snowstorm serves as the backdrop and a black silhouette shape for the famous Woolly sculpture located in front of the main lodge ski area in Mammoth Lakes, California. "Woolly" is the popular mammoth bronze statue by artist Douglas Van Howd that is located in front of the Mammoth Ski Area at an elevation of 8000 feet. A faint image of the advanced ski run, titled Scotty's and the chair lift equipment. is seen in the background.
This beautiful symbol created by the sculpture artist was installed in 1990 for Dave McCoy's 75th Birthday, the founder of the Ski Area and dedicated to him. It is a beautiful symbol located in front of the ski area and it served as a mascot for many years before the ski association changed its branding market to a more universal symbol.
