The fall season is by far, my most favorite time of year to photograph the beauty of nature. Captured here is an aspen stand in Bishop, CA; bursting with siren color against a granite backdrop. Simply breathtaking as you round a corner and come upon such glory. Discovering this grove of aspen felt like finding a pot of gold beneath the rainbow.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
