Crew members of big wind sailing who race competitively are not for the faint of heart... especially in stormy weather. In this image they are rounding the weather mark towards Alcatraz, in San Francisco, California during the annual Rolex Big Boat Series. It is exhilarating to watch and photograph. Huge wind gusts are unpredictable. Check out their yellow foul weather gear. Brrrr

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden.
