I had an eagle eye on this one with my Nikon camera and long lens. Eagles found in zoos can no longer live in the wild. They have been injured and cannot fend for themselves. The Tampa Zoo is the protected home for this magnificent looking creature with an eagle eye. Although it can not fly or hunt its prey anymore, it is awesome to view this symbol of our nation in an up close and personal safe setting.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
