With the theme of 'hands on instruments', the guitar and hands of musical artist Jeffrey James was taken in concert in Mammoth Lakes. My image was used the following year on a poster designed for a Mammoth Rocks event featuring tribute bands of legendary musicians.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
