Artist's Description
An international award for special event publicity was given for this image showcasing the natural light illuminating the strumming hand and string instrument during the finale of the Mammoth Lakes 2001 Jazz Jubilee. It featured the hands of Jay Mueller on his bass during an outdoor performance of the Bill Allred Classic Band from Orlando, Florida.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden.
