When visiting the Valley, you won't help but see and spend time near the Merced River. Its stillness is serene on a calm bluebird stellar jay summer day. Merced River is a beautiful river that winds through the Yosemite Valley making it a central feature of this area of the park. It is fed by the snowmelt within Yosemite National Park. The green colors in the late afternoon are as rich as an Irish spring commercial.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
