Roadside - Bishop Creek - Late Fall metal print by Bonnie Colgan.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

Roadside views from car windows are sometimes the only ones you get. With so many fall enthusiasts storming the area with cameras, there are limited parking spaces to set up gear. Drive by shots, with windows down, become the best opportunities at dusk, in cold weather. By then, many tourists are headed for their cabins and warmth. On this day, the wind had blown most of the fall foliage away as snow was on its way from the higher elevations.

Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
