A new bridge replaced the favored vintage Tamarack Bridge in the late 1990's for safety reasons. Over the years, countless couples have crossed over it as they head for the Alpine Chapel located on the other side to get married or simply to find a spiritual place to stop and unplug from our daily fast paced lives.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
