Walking in the woods near Oxbow Bend, Wyoming made it feel like we were in a magical watercolor painting. A light rain began falling just after sunrise; it's sound breaking the silence of the momentary awe and splendor of it all. The tree trunks changed their hue as the mist soaked the bark and the ground cover glistened with moisture.
Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish," has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her. Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains.
