Description
The spring snow thaw, providing opportunities to hike on and around the forest and lakes without snowshoes or cross country skis, is why so many Mammoth locals endure the sometimes harsh winter snowfall; perhaps of up to 500" a year. A walk around serene Lake Mary in the upper elevations can only be done in the spring as the snow thaws and the roads begin to open up again to the lakes basin. Great place to walk your dog.
