Mono Lake -Tufa Sunset Reflections - Eastern Sierra, California
Photograph - Photography Prints
This tufa sunset image was taken in the early winter days on Mono Lake, in California's Eastern Sierra before the snow fell and it became a winter wonderland surrounded by white. A very unique area, the subject in this image is a group of porous rocks called tufas. They are composed of calcium carbonate and formed by water precipitation.
No matter what part of Mono Lake you visit, this one-of-a-kind ecosystem has the potential to amaze and inspire all visitors. I felt like I was in a fairy tale or some lover's dream of soft pastel hues of pinks and blues. It is a mecca for outside adventure.
